27-year-old Jyotsna Rai was originally from the village Tarai Di, tehsil Ghosi of district Mau. She was a Judge by profession. As per the reports, Judge Jyotsna Rai hanged herself in her home. Her death was revealed when one of her colleagues tried to contact her because Jyotsna did not reach the court by 10 am. After trying to connect for a lot of time, her colleague went to her residence in Judge Colony. Her bedroom was locked from inside and Jyotsna’s colleagues immediately called the police.
Senior Superintendent of Police of Budaun Alok Priyadarshi said that a suicide note, along with other documents, was recovered from her room. Priyadarshi said that prima facie it seems to be a case of mental stress.
Police informed media that the Jyotsna Rai’s body has been sent for autopsy. There will be various things that will be clear after the autopsy report. Her brother Alok was at the post-mortem house with judges of the same court as well.
Judge Jyotsna Rai’s father has filed a complaint claiming that her daughter was murdered. Also, the family claims that the police should investigate this case properly.
